Mr. Herring serves as the Bexar County Representative to the Institutional Review Board of Texas A&M San Antonio and appointed in 2011 as a city official, by Mayor Julian Castro to the Economic Development Department’s Small Business Advocacy Committee representing over 77,000 small business owners. His lifetime contributions were recognized as the national recipient of the prestigious United States JAYCEES Ten Outstanding Young American Award.
